ALAS is an after-school club designed to create space for students to increase cultural awareness of the Americas, to build community, to develop leadership skills, and increase academic success and motivation. Space is limited. Please see Mr. Velazquez for more information.

► FAMM/AVID (Fun and Motivated Minority/Advancement Via Individual Determination)

Where & Location: Meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 3:20 - 4:30 pm in Room 27

AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

The FAMM is a club of supportive, encouraging, understanding, enthusiastic, and creative young students who want to work hard together and achieve their goals.

► King Youth Enrichment Program (YEP)

Where & Location: Meets everyday right after school to 6 pm.

We offer homework support, social and emotional support for students, and a variety of clubs and activities. 

Within King YEP we also have a variety of Clubs:
  1. Cooking Club ran by Ms. Aranda and Ms. Gomez is Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:15-5:30. Students will learn various cooking techniques and how to prepare and make various food items. 
  2. Soccer Club ran by Mr. James is Mondays and Fridays from 3:15-5pm, and Wednesdays from 1:15-2:15pm to better improve their soccer skills and participate in games every other Wednesday at the HUB and a few Saturdays at various sites. 
  3. Leadership ran by Ms. Nora is Wednesdays from 1:15-2:15pm and Fridays from 3:15-4:30pm helping develop young student leaders in the community by teaching them how to plan and run events, and how to navigate the emotional and social pressures of Middle School. 
  4. Gardening ran by Mr. Roman is Thursdays from 3:15-4:30pm Students will work together to plan, plant and take care of the King Garden. 
  5. Gamers Club ran by Ms. Aranda is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30pm. Students will learn about the various Careers and Career pathways in the Gaming Industry. Learn how to create a game from concept to layout, proper handling and treatment of equipment, and various Gaming tournaments and challenges. 
  6. Film Club ran by Ms. Haley and Ms. Nora is Wednesdays from 3:15-5:30pm. Student will learn about film making and the various Careers within it and engage in creating their own short videos or film. 
  7. Our Fall Middle College Course - Illustration 61 ran by Chabot College is Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30pm
